Elementary News

The school year is off to a great start!  The first quarter will come to a close soon!  Staff members are recognizing students for being Safe, Respectful and Responsible by randomly giving out P.A.W. (Positive Action Works) Notes.  Each classroom is working together to meet their classroom goal by collecting P.A.W. Notes for a classroom reward.  As a school, each month we are focusing on a different character trait.  Our focus for September is responsibility.  We will be focusing on trustworthiness in October.

We have several fun events planned for October that will place a special emphasis on reading!  Students will be challenged to read an extra 300 minutes during our annual Read-A-Thon on October 8th through the 15th.  In addition, families are encouraged to attend the Going for the Gold Family Night on Monday, Oct. 11th at 6:30 p.m.  Families are also invited to shop at the Scholastic Book Fair on October 17th through the 21st.

Teachers look forward to greeting parents on Thursday, October 21st at Parent-Teacher Conferences.  School will not be in session on Friday, October 1st as staff will be involved in a professional in-service day and Friday, October 22nd for fall break!

Thank you for sharing your children with us!  It is a privilege to be able to work with them each day!

Happy Fall!
