The Aurora boys cross country team has been very successful this year. They have earned multiple personal records, medals, and many wins as a team. Their next meet is at conference which will take place at Plum Creek Park in Seward. Varsity boys will consist of junior Charlie Evans, senior Jalen Daugherty, senior Caden Meyer, and freshman Carson Krejci. They are missing their top runner, senior Lucas Gautier. Even though they are, junior Charlie Evans said, “ Even though we are missing our best runner I still think we have a chance of doing well at conference and districts.”

At Syracuse, the boys felt like they did not run their best race. “I felt like I didn’t run my best,” Charlie Evans said. Earlier this week the varsity boys ran at the UNK HS XC Invitational at this meet the boys placed twelfth out of 39 teams. Charlie placed thirty-fourth and Jalen placed forty-eighth. The team's number one runner Lucas Gautier got injured at this meet, hurting his ankle. He hopes to be able to run at districts and conferences.

“This team has placed at many meets and I’m excited to see what they do at districts and state,” Coach Anthony Sigler said. This week the team will be practicing for their district meet. That will be on Wednesday at Elks Country Club in Hastings. Their district consists of  Adam Central, Aurora, Central City, David City, Fairbury, Fillmore Central Kearney Catholic, Malcolm, Milford, Minden, St. Paul, and Wilber-Clatonia. The boys are expected to place first at the district meet according to the team rankings on Athletic.net as long as their number one runner is able to run.
