The 2023 Husky football season kicked-off with a 50-30 win at Grand Island Northwest on Aug. 25. The game was stalled for an hour and a half due to a lightning delay at the start of the fourth quarter, with the game finally ending at midnight.
This game was special to senior Graham Christenson. It was his first ever football game, as well as his first time being a kicker. Although he said he felt he had a rough start, his teammates were there to pick him up.
¨Especially after the kick I missed, everyone was super encouraging and gave me the confidence to be able to knock down the next one,¨ Graham said.
Julian Hernandez led the pack with a 99-yard touchdown reception from Booker Scheierman, while Maddex Egger ended the game with 175 rushing yards.
