The Husky volleyball team opened their regular season Aug. 24 with a triangular against two of the top teams in class B. The Huskies started the night off against Wahoo, the first set ending 17-25 and the second 19-25. The Huskies came back after the two losses to play Norris. In game one the score ended 12-25 and the second 18-25.
During the last game of the day, the Huskies racked up five blocks against the Titans and recorded 13 digs. Senior Kehlanee Bengtson led the way for the Huskies recording half of the team’s kills and a serve percentage of 88.9.
“I think we played well,” Kehlanee said. “We played some pretty tough teams and we started out season off strong.”
Sophomore Trinity Urmacher ended the night with a serving percentage of 100 and pass rating of 2.67. Alongside her, junior Regan Ashby led the team in digs with 10 after the final set.
“We did a really good job during our set against Norris,” Coach Kruml said. “Our defense was killer, we played really good defense and it was a really fun game to play in. To be able to compete at that level is huge this early into the season.”
